High Sheriff's Awards 2007

The High Sheriff, Mrs Sareth Nainby-Luxmoore presented Shrievalty Awards at this year's ceremony which was held in Durham Castle on 23rd March.  We received 19 individual nominations and 9 group nominations, which totalled 132 young people in all. 36 young people attended the ceremony, which was made up of all the individual nominees and two representatives of each of the groups...(more)

 

Colliery Crime busters

An award-winning group of young County Durham crimefighters has earned a national accolade for its work. 

Earlier this year the youngsters from Easington Colliery were honoured for their efforts by the county High Sheriff, Mrs Sareth Nainby-Luxmoore, who felt their work was of such importance that she entered them for the prestigious National Crimebeat Awards.....(read more)

 

Wise Drive

 

Wise Drive will take place again in September, with the same events on offer. This year will be bigger than ever with the project running for 11 days and including over 800 young people. For ten days, six schools will bring 12 pupils each day and one day will be dedicated to young offenders.  The insurance company 'More Than' will be part sponsoring the programme this year.
